Yeah ever since the 1.31 update rolled out the app is borderline unwatchable. Constant skipping up and down between qualities and incorrect timestamp being tracked. I do most of my watching on PS4, I don't see how I can justify staying subscribed if this isn't resolved quickly.

Guys I have an LG b7, so I can't watch CR by browser.
Do you suggest me to avoid premium membership until this problemes are solved?

Mine did something even worse yesterday, the bar went off the screen while it was still on ep 7 and it started playing ep 8 in the background, my history showed I watched half of ep 8 when I was still on ep 7

now this only happened once so far, most times if not all the times it’s something like 27 mins/ 24 mins

Same here

Premium member for a couple of years now and no issues till latest update.

Constant vid quality going down and up and seen the ep time bar run off screen as posted recently here as well.

Wired connection pulling 1g and pushing 10m, other streaming services fine. T-shooting fails.

Something with last PS4 app update screwed something up somewhere.

Hope its resolved soon.

This latest update has ruined the PS4 experience. It’s nearly unusable. The quality drops, skipping,and randomly being kicked out of the episode is killer. Especially for something I pay for. I have also observed the time bar extending off the screen as others have posted. It’s annoying but not fatal. Still, with all the other problems, it’s just a last straw kind of irritation. I hope they fix it quickly. Or simply undo it.

Same for me. The 1.31 Update completely ruined the app. It was already a so so port of the ps3 app, but the new update has tons of quality drops for several minutes and the progress bar problem expressed by others here, as well as the random skipping for me. Completely unwatchable. For now using vrv with my crunchyroll connected and that's working good, but i liked the crunchyroll app better. Hope they fix this. They already took away the third party kodi app which worked better than any app crunchyroll has ever released. Please fix this soon.

I saw this error on PS4 too. Not in one piece though. I would imagine that this is happening because the video player program is unsure of the video ID because of the switching.

Crunchyroll is experience hardware and software issues! The sites had major stability issues across all platforms! No information about when the crunchyroll will be stable again! Expect no answer from the company and zero access to shows on a consistent error rate. AT&T now owns this mess and it’s just gotten completely unstable and non functional!

I’m really happy to find I’m not the only one experiencing these issues. I’ve been rewatching Naruto on PS4 and the app will routinely skip back 5-10 seconds, lose quality even though I have ample bandwidth and the time bar will read off the screen and if you miss something while it’s like this and try to skip back to see it, suddenly you’re at the end of the episode and have to rewind through half of the show to get that few seconds you missed. Super frustrating binge watching episodes and having constant repeated issues.

Crunchyroll has been owned by AT&T, the site has been unusable on multiple platforms.

Exact same problem here since the update. The quality keeps switching from max to a pixel mosaic. Pre update I was able to view everything in hd with no issues and now it just keeps dropping in quality every 30 seconds or so. I know for a fact that it is not a bandwidth issue on my end.

I can't even get on to the app on my PS4. I am having to use VRV crunchyroll channel, even though I can't stand that app. I keep getting "Unable to connect to Crunchyroll. Please check your network connection settings and relaunch the app." this has been going on for over 2 days now. I have done every recommended fix on here, and nothing. might have to cancel my premium subscription if they don't fix it soon.

Happening to me as well, everything that’s described in here. Only on PS4 it seems. I’ve contacted the crunchyroll support via email and all they say is to uninstall and install the app again, I’m not surprised. Might have to cancel the subscription unfortunately if this isn’t fixed, I’m not rich or anything to just be throwing away money every month

Hello,
I'm curious, do dev's actully check this page? Either way there was a recent update on the ps4 crunchyroll app. After the update the app cant seem to constantly stream 1080P anymore. Instead it switch back and froth from what i believe is 360P and 480P. This sucks because I've been spoiled by the stunning quality of 720 to 1080P and watching in anthing lower just doesnt feel right. My ps4 is always running on a wired connection so my net being slow is not the problem( i have a stabel 105Mb download and 5Mb uploade speed). Again this problem only started happing after the update. I've been watching on my computer to get that good 1080P quality but id love to return to watching on my ps4. I love crunchyroll and i hate to stream anime anywhere else, although im am looking into VRV for more stuff to watch. If a dev reads this please look into this.
