Same here, update 1.31 broke ps4 app.
I have no issue from my WiiU, laptop or even PS4 web browser ...
Support team suggest me exactly what is written in the FAQ.
i'm able to watch 4k show, but you know perhaps, for 20min HD anime, i have connection issue -___-

very sad for crunchyroll, low quality, end of funimation parternship ...
can we even know if the dev team has been addressed with this issue ?

I need to chime in as well. This last update has caused me so much frustration while watching shows. To have my picture go from crystal to fuzzy is maddening, especially since the subtitles themselves are linked to the resolution. Clearly something was wrong before the update because show thumbnails stopped updating, but that's minor compared to unstable resolution.

Same f*cking problem, I can't even watch an episode without having my screen getting blurred since the last updated.

TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating'my.player.paused')

I've been using the PS4 app for a year...not a single problem until this latest update. Now every 5 minutes the resolution drops to potato level and hitting the rewind button during those drops for some reason skips ahead 5 minutes.

I was glad at first to see they were still doing updates, but this update is a huge piece of crap

Getting player issues here too following the recent update. I paused playback to check a download notification, then when I returned to the app I noticed the playback count had jumped to something like 27:40 / 25:00 (basically about 10mins ahead of what it should have been) . This could be a coincidence but it looked as if it might have added on the remaining playback time to the played count?

By the credits it looked like this:

Also getting the pixelating that others have mentioned but figured this could just have been due to the downloads I had going on the PS4. I know some apps and games force downloads to go to a low priority - don't know if CR definitely does this?

Hello,
I'm curious, do dev's actully check this page?

I doubt it, Crunchyroll doesn't seem to care anyway. The website just breaks more and more every day with no hint that they care to fix it.

The time stamps are not tracking properly. Every episode in a series seems to have a set "max time" that I believe is causing most of these issues. Every episode of One Piece HD is showing that they are 24:00 episodes... This is not true. Other series I have seen have been tracking as 23:39 for all episodes. The time bar goes way passed where it's supposed to. The time tracking seems to go out of whack when you visibly see a repeated 3 seconds of episode or an obvious skip ahead in the video. Or even the resolution switcheroos. The time bar then is like 4 minutes ahead as opposed to the actual video so to find the skipped sections of episode you have to rewind "4 minutes" (According to the time bar) for only a 3 second skip.

It'd be nice if devs checked here... I'm not sure how many of them there are or even people to report to devs that could check... Maybe we should send mad mod reports until we get their attention /s Kappa (and the other various forms to show my sarcasm on the mod reporting. )

Edit: I'm sending a tech support email to them with a link to this forum thread.

Judging by the amount of threads in this forum that are months (if not years) old and contain recent posts suggesting the problems are still present, and still lack any official response... I would say probably none.

At best this appears to be a community forum where users can share their own workarounds and/or complaints If there is an official means of submitting bug tickets or feature requests I will gladly use it but from what I can see there isn't one.

I'm glad I'm not the only one having problems. Literally just started paying for a Crunchyroll subscription again, downloaded the app on my PS4 tonight and it keeps changing quality, making the sound cut out and it skips like a scratched DVD disk! I can only hope that they will sort this out soon
