About You:

  • BA or BS in EE/CS (in lieu of degree, 2 years of relevant work experience).
  • Recent production experience with “native” or “vanilla” JavaScript (ECMA5/6).
  • Recent production experience with other web technologies and modern programming languages such as; PHP, Go, Python, ObjC, Java.
  • Good written-English communication skills.
  • Understanding of SQL and NoSQL datastores and their applications
  • Experience with integrating any online video players (HTML5, AVF, Exo, Kaltura, JW, etc...)
  • Experience designing APIs for libraries and SDKs for consumption by third-party developers.
  • Familiarity with online video ads
  • Familiarity with unit testing

 

About the Team:

The Video Player and Monetization team is responsible for all aspects of Crunchyroll and VRV’s video players across many devices and platforms. This includes user interface; analytics; content protection integration; network communication with backend services; video ads; and player configuration, customization, and delivery.

A day in the life of the Video Team:

The agile team in San Francisco is building a unique video player capable of being integrated into all of our supported client platforms while delivering on the features and capabilities our users desire. This brings many interesting challenges such as the need to support all the various platforms and their unique behaviors as well as the delivery and playback of video ads for our non premium users. You will work with the rest of the organization, including design, product management, as well as other engineering teams, in specifying, building, and integrating.
