We’re looking for a superstar that has an eye for really cool products or apparel who backs it up with solid analytical expertise.

Be a part of a highly skilled, creative and collaborative team. The Sr. Merchandise Planner will own their assigned product categories and will lead the open-to-buy plan, product development and selling process by driving the creation of assortments for all channels. They are the key driver of sales and profit, determine product line assortment & sourcing, establish and maintain competitive pricing & profit margin and directly contribute to the development of marketing campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the merchandise business including margin, sales, promotions, inventory and product specific opportunities
  • Develop and communicate comprehensive department financial & product strategies
  • Iterate and drive forward structure in planning processes while fostering innovation
  • Maintain knowledge base of industry and competitor market trends
  • Collaborate with a team of cross-functional resources including analytics and planning to develop and own the strategy to maximize profitability, growth, and other strategic objectives
  • Expand the current vendor selection and secure new brand partnerships for multiple categories; lead strategic negotiations to deliver top- and bottom-line category growth
  • Creates and maintains ad hoc reporting of categories to assess the health of the business including customer returns, margin, shipping costs, conversions, etc.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in merchandising, fashion design, art or related field from an accredited program or HS diploma plus equivalent years of experience
  • +5 years of experience in buying and merchandise planning within the toy/collectible, apparel, and/or home goods segments of the consumer products industry
  • Experience and knowledge of the product development process, strategies, and life cycle management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret meaningful trends from quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Enthusiastic and capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented and collaborative environment
  • Strong negotiator, process driven and extremely detail oriented
  • Passion for pop culture and anime fan a plus
  • Strong written/verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with a focus on Excel and Word
  • Working knowledge of the apparel, accessories, home goods, pop culture, and video gaming industries
