We’re looking for a DIRECTOR, AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT (VRV) to join our team in San Francisco. Our offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Chișinău develop the product, design, engineering, marketing and content for Crunchyroll and VRV -- we are media and technology experts, and we lead with our digital-first DNA to create experiences for our passionate communities.
About the Role:
We’re looking for a seasoned leader to take on the exciting challenge of driving the growth of VRV’s community while continuing to extend the brand into new and exciting opportunities with fans. In addition to our 200k+ social followers, we have a gallery (featuring independent artists) touring the country, a blog doing deep fandom journalism, recently released our first zine as well as our first original song, are working to launch a podcast network, and much more. Oh, and we also have millions of users that come to our service each month to engage with all of the amazing content on VRV.
With a fast growing audience and exciting initiatives in place, we’ve added this new leadership role to provide dedicated direction to existing team members and to help accelerate our momentum. Candidates for this role will possess a unique combination of audience understanding, creative passion, and the analytical capabilities to thoughtfully invest in and grow the various aforementioned initiatives and ideate new opportunities to connect with fans.
Candidates will need to show ability to collaborate and work across teams, as this position will interact with the marketing, creative services, originals, licensing, product, events and merchandise teams. We are looking for a strong culture fit, someone who is highly motivated, ambitious, eager to grow, and excited by an established startup environment.
